The Trout Hollow Trail is a walking trail that travels through mostly private property along both sides of the Bighead River from the Bakeshop Bridge in Meaford to the Riverside Community Centre on the 7th Line.  While following the trail along the river, access to Beautiful Joe Park and many historical and natural points of interest can be discovered including areas where old sawmills, gristmills and a power dam used to service early settlers.  Noted U.S. naturalist, John Muir, worked with the Trout family at their sawmill in a hollow on the Bighead River in the 1860s.
