Headquarters Conservation Area Trails - # 33

Hanover

Length: 4.6 km loops
Difficulty: Easy
Surface: Hard-packed, wood chips, boardwalks

Uses: Walking/hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing

A number of trails wind throughout this 87 hectare property, each displaying different habitats and attractions from the Sulphur Spring, with its natural spring-fed stream system (remaining at a constant 49 degrees F.), to the upland hardwoods and a cedar bog complete with carnivorous Pitcher Plants.   Although the trails may not be groomed, frequent traffic makes them easy to traverse in the winter months.

Access: The trails are accessible at Headquarters Conservation Area, 4 kms south of Hanover off County Road 10.
