Stoney Island Conservation Area Trails - # 36

Kincardine

Length: 8 km loops
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
Surface: Hard-packed

Uses: Walking/hiking, cross-country skiing, cycling, snowshoeing

In spring, summer and fall, hikers, joggers and mountain bikers can enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Stoney Island on the shores of Lake Huron. These wide trails are sheltered by hardwoods, cedars and hemlocks. In the winter, they are regularly groomed and are suitable for both skating and classical (traditional) skiing. Skiers with racing and sport skiing ambitions, as well as tourers or wilderness lovers, will find these trails suited to their abilities.

Access: The trails are accessible 4 km north of Kincardine on County Road 23 (Shore Road, also known as B Line) at Concession 7 in Kincardine Township.
